The Design Process: A Journey of Creativity and Collaboration

Your jewellery should be more than just an accessory; it’s can be a reflection of your story, your style, and your memories. My design process is a collaborative journey, one where inspiration from various sources comes together to create something truly unique. From architecture to nature, even the client’s personal treasures, every piece I craft is a blend of art, craftsmanship, and personal meaning.

Drawing Inspiration from Architecture and Nature

The world around us offers endless inspiration, and we draw from diverse sources like architecture, nature, and other art forms. The clean lines and geometric patterns of modern buildings often influence the way I approach the structure of a piece while organic shapes found in nature—such as the curves of a leaf or the texture of a stone—provide a natural elegance. Another huge inspiration is the timeless beauty of classical design elements, which blend seamlessly with contemporary aesthetics which allows me to create jewellery that feels both modern and ageless.

Incorporating Client’s Personal Stones or Jewellery

Many clients come to me with stones they already own, or with old jewellery that has sentimental value. I understand how important these pieces are, and I am always committed to honouring their history while giving them a fresh, modern look. Whether it’s an heirloom gemstone, an old engagement ring, or a piece of jewellery passed down through generations, I work with the clients to breathe new life into these precious materials. The process begins with carefully assessing the stones and understanding the emotional connection they hold, ensuring that every detail of the design reflects their significance.

The CAD System and Client Collaboration

The cutting-edge CAD (Computer-Aided Design) system I use plays a crucial role in turning ideas into reality. It allows me to create a highly detailed 3D model of the proposed design, giving clients an opportunity to see and modify the piece before it is created.

This technology bridges the gap between imagination and reality, ensuring that every aspect of the design is meticulously planned and refined. I work closely with our clients during this stage, making revisions as needed, until the design feels perfect.

Sketching Initial Designs and Refining Ideas

The journey begins with a simple sketch. Whether it’s a rough concept or a fully realised design, I normally start by putting ideas on paper. These sketches serve as the foundation for our collaboration, guiding the creation of the final piece.

From there, we refine the design together, listening to the client’s feedback and making adjustments to achieve their vision.

At Bespoke By Baskerville, the client journey is about more than just creating a piece of jewellery—it’s about crafting something that tells a story. Every step of the design process is a conversation, ensuring the end result is a reflection of both personal significance and artistic beauty.
